Founded in 1979, Pennsylvania Dance Theatre (PDT) continues to thrive on national and international stages, producing intense, thought-provoking modern dance performances. Under the direction of German born choreographer Andre Koslowski, the company is joined every year by a committed pool of internationally renowned choreographers, set designers, music directors, and dancers, who work together to explore the boundaries between contemporary dance and theatre. This years performance during the Central Pennsylvania Festival of the Arts features two world premieres with guest artists from New York City, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, and Oslo Norway. Church of the Nativity Troika Russian Festival is a cultural festival that takes place May 2016 at Old Orthodox Church-Nativity. Russian dance and music ensemble Barynya performed during annual "Troika" Festival organized by the Church of the Nativity in Erie, Pennsylvania. All concerts were narrated by a Russian-born ethnomusicologist, folk singer, garmoshka player, artistic director and founder of the group Mikhail Smirnov.
